Glossary: Kentucky Highway Use License (KYU)

Necessary for all vehicles that travel in/through Kentucky. A permit required by Kentucky operating on their roads with a GVW of 60,000 pounds or more. The purpose is to collect a mileage tax imposed by Kentucky and is collected quarterly.

Glossary: Motor Carrier Permit (MCP)

A document issued by the DMV to the motor carrier as proof of the registration with the DMV of their Carrier Identification number (CA#). This permit confirms that the motor carrier has met all of the requirements to drive motor vehicles on California highways.
