IRS Field Offices Are Not Accepting Walk-in Traffic – You Must Have an Appointment

June 6, 2016

If you’re used to walking into your local IRS office to process your Form 2290, things are changing. You can’t do that anymore! If you want to visit the IRS now, you must have an appointment.

The IRS has been looking for ways to diminish traffic to their field offices for a long time, and e-file has always been the obvious answer.

The IRS will be mailing out a post card to notify 2290 filers of this change soon. If it’s anything like previous post cards, it will recommend e-filing for those who need their Stamped Schedule 1 quickly.

But there’s one more hang up. You must have an EIN to e-file, the IRS will reject a Social Security Number. If you need help getting an EIN, please call us and we will show you how to apply for an EIN – fast and free. There are lots of “services” out there that will “expedite” your EIN for a hefty fee, but nothing is faster than doing it yourself on IRS.gov. It does take about two weeks to e-file with a new EIN, so it’s best to get started early.

E-file is fast, secure, and easy. Most get their Stamped Schedule 1 back through email within minutes and are extremely happy. You can call us directly to work with someone on our All American Support Team any time between 5am and 5pm Pacific, Monday through Friday. We will walk you through e-filing step by step and answer all your questions along the way.
