  • Filing sends your information to the IRS
  • Payment sends your money to the IRS

You can — and likely will — receive a Stamped Schedule 1 before your payment clears. That is the whole point of e-filing.

What “Free” Actually Refers To

When people search for “pay 2290 online free,” they are usually talking about one of two things:

1. Paying Your Taxes to the IRS Directly

You can do this for no additional fees using EFTPS, ACH debit, or check/money order by US mail. There is no fee from us to send these payments to the IRS. But that is only the taxes.
